Electric car developer Edmond X. Ramirez, Sr. is the creator of the EXAR-1 Electric Car:
“The Worlds First (Real) Electronic Powered Automobile"
In 1973, Mr. Ramirez began with the idea that a real electric car, of necessity, had to be designed, not only with an approach toward technological advances, but that the new technology be accompanied by innovative and discrete manufacturing, sales, distribution, repair and maintenance aspects. Also, was the need to consider electric automobiles in relation to the environment. Amectran is an acronym for AMerican ECologicalTRANsportation, the company’s avatar, its very essence; the integral concept that any new electric car must be one with the environment, nature, and humankind. The EXAR-1 Electric Automobile pictured above, was the result of applying this creative, cost saving strategy. Tested repeatedly by the United States Department of Transportation, the Secretary of Transportation was sufficiently impressed, with the project, to emphatically recommended government purchase these automobiles.
During the early-70s, the cry went out for development of an electric car ... in excess of 200 entities, from all over the world,
responded. Of all those, only one is worth mentioning...
"Amectran Corporation"
Mr.
Ramirez did what no other electric car developer had, or has done to date. A "real" electric car, must, of necessity, ‘actually’ be
designed as the genesis of an entirely new industry: This differentiation is as substantial as that of the vacuum tube to the transistor.
While, both gasoline and electric cars perform the same functions, building a gasoline car and putting batteries and electric motor
in it, does not constitute a ‘real’ electric automobile. The word ‘real,’ proceeding ‘electric automobile,’ referrers to the fact
that every part of a ‘real’ electric car’s design is relegated, specifically, to the same total redesign as relates to that of the
vacuum tube, to that of the transistor and LSI/MOS circuitry; the only electric car to do so, is the EXAR-1, developed by Mr. Ramirez.
Amectran’s logo is the American Eagle embedded with the ecological emblem symbolizing the elements that protect life on our planet against deadly pollution. The brave Eagle leads the path of green growth while wholesome, fresh air, floats in the white banner; the circle of continuity of life, creates the electronic hope for tomorrow …

has slowed our wheels of freedom.
We are proud to enter 2012 as a part
of this nation's inspired renewal of the creative spirit ... a spirit that will continue to lead the world into brotherhood,
human dignity and the protection of our planet by development and production of the Amectran’s electric automobile – the
electric car which represents the electric car industry of the future ...
